According to the Abjad numerical system, his name corresponds to “Farhat Asar,” but he became widely known by the name “Muhammad.”
He received his early education at home and memorized the Qur’an in the specialized division of the Maktab at Madrasa Mazahir Uloom (Waqf). Following this, he studied introductory Arabic texts under various teachers, most notably his father, Athar Husain (RA).
Academic Curriculum and Distinctive Approach
His father deviated from the traditional Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and implemented a personalized syllabus, incorporating select books from the Nadwah curriculum. This approach enabled Saeedi to complete his studies in a short period and contributed to his strong grounding in Arabic literature.
Formal Studies and Examinations
On 10 Shawwal 1406 AH (18 June 1986 CE), he sat for examinations in Mukhtasar al-Ma‘ani, Hidayah Awwalain, Maqamat Hariri, and Nur al-Anwar. He later repeated the same class to re-study these texts along with Sab‘ah Mu‘allaqah.
In 1408 AH, he passed the annual exams after studying Jalalain, Hidayah Thalith, Mishkat al-Masabih, its introduction, and Sharh Nukhbat al-Fikr.
Completion of Hadith Studies (Dora-e-Hadith)
In 1409 AH (1988 CE), he completed his Dora-e-Hadith with distinction, earning high marks. His study of Bukhari Sharif was divided among several teachers: the first volume (up to the chapter إِذَا رَكَعَ دُونَ الصَّفِّ) under Muhammad Yunus, the remainder under Mufti Muzaffar Husain (RA), and the second volume under Allama Rafiq Ahmad Bhainsanawi (RA). He studied the Book of Prayer from Muslim Sharif under Muhammad Yunus and the remaining volume, along with Tirmidhi, Shama’il, Ibn Majah, Muwatta Imam Malik, Muwatta Imam Muhammad, and Tahawi Sharif under Mufti Muzaffar Husain (RA). Parts of Abu Dawood Sharif and Nasa’i Sharif were studied under Muhammad Aqil (RA), with the remainder taught by Mufti Muzaffar Husain (RA).
He secured first position in his class in the 1409 AH annual exam, receiving a cash award and scoring 196 out of 200 marks.
Peers and Companions
Among his notable contemporaries during Dora-e-Hadith were:
- Mufti Abdul Haseeb Azmi (Teacher at Mazahir Uloom)
- Laiq Ahmad Azmi (Teacher at Bait ul-Uloom, Sarai Mir, Azamgarh)
- Muhammad Isa Bijnori (Imam and Khateeb, Jama Masjid; Head of Jamia Ashraf ul-Uloom, Najibabad)
- Khalil Ahmad Deva (Teacher at Falah-e-Darin, Turkeshwar, Gujarat)
Studies at Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband
After completing his studies at Mazahir Uloom, he briefly enrolled at Darul Uloom Deoband before continuing his education at Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband, where he completed his Dora-e-Hadith in 1410 AH.
His instructors at Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband included:

Administrative Roles
In a Shura meeting held on 30 Jamadil Awwal 1424 AH, he was appointed Deputy Administrator of the madrasa upon the recommendation of the Shura members.
Following the demise of Mufti Muzaffar Hussain (RA) on 28 Ramadan 1424 AH, Muhammad Saeedi was publicly declared the successor and Administrator of Mazahir Uloom by thousands in attendance just before the funeral prayer. This appointment was formally confirmed by the Shura on 7 Shawwal 1424 AH.
