Canklow is a suburb of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. Canklow is less than {{convert|1|mi|km|1}} south from Rotherham town centre and approximately {{convert|4|mi|km|0|}} north-east from Sheffield city centre. It forms part of the Boston Castle ward for the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham.
History

In 1981 the census revealed a male unemployment rate for Canklow of 42.1%, just under four times the national average.Williams (1997) op cit
From 1983 to 1986 Canklow was one of four areas in South Yorkshire where the Probation Service ran a victim/offender mediation project (one of the first of its kind in the country).Williams,Clifford (1997) op cit The area at the time suffered high unemployment, a heroin problem and a suicide rate well above the high averageYorkshire Post 20 May 1985 'The Heroin Nightmare'. identified a house in Warden Street, Canklow as a major source of heroin dealing. In the space of just seven months during 1985 Canklow was the site of three separate suicides (Williams (1997) op cit page 277
Landmarks
Education in the local area is provided by Canklow Woods Primary School and Oakwood High School.
There was a church in Canklow, but has now been converted to a sofa shop.
