The Dlugov assault rifle (автомат Длугова) was a prototype assault rifle of Soviet origin. The weapon used a blowback operation and was chambered in the 7.62×39mm round. It was proposed as an alternative to the gas operated AK-47, but the Dlugov turned out ineffective and was rejected.{{cite book|last=Monetchikov|first=Sergei|title=История русского автомата|trans-title=The History of Russian Assault Rifle|year=2005|pages=81–82|publisher=Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps|location=St. Petersburg|isbn=5-98655-006-4|language=Russian}}
