Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafique Farooqi is a Pakistani artist, calligrapher, and art educator, known for his unique approach to blending traditional art techniques with modern styles. Early life and education

Artistic career

Farooqi has created more than 14,000 pieces of art and held 110 solo exhibitions in countries including the USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Germany, Sudan, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan. Farooqi donated 10 Master Pieces for Diamer bhasha dam. These were sold, and the proceeds were presented as contribution towards the dam funds.

Writing

This work combines his writings and paintings, offering readers insight into his artistic interpretation of Sufi spirituality.

In 2022, he published his seventh book, Muhammad ur Rasulullah{{Cite web |title=From the Book of Muhammad(P.B.U.H) |website=Shafique Farooqi |url=https://shafiquefarooqi.com/from-the-book-of-muhammad/ |access-date=16 March 2025 |language=en-US}}, which showcases 100 original calligraphic paintings, each reflecting his deep reverence for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His innovative use of both brush and palette knife brings texture and spiritual depth to his work.

In 2023, Prof. Farooqi’s art and his book Glimpse of Invincible, The Tale from the Khamseh of Nizami received international recognition.

Awards and recognition

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the arts, Farooqi was awarded the President of Pakistan's Pride of Performance Award in 2021.

In 2022, Farooqi was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Spiritual Arts by The Royal American University, acknowledging his six-decade-long career and groundbreaking work in the arts.
