The Gaskiers Formation is a geologic formation in Newfoundland and Labrador, and takes its named from the wider Gaskiers-Point La Haye area.
The Gaskiers-Point La Haye/Gaskiers Formation gives its name to the Gaskiers glaciation, a glacial event that was around during a majority or short period of the formations range,{{cite journal |last1=Pu |first1=Judy P. |last2=Bowring |first2=Samuel A. |last3=Ramezani |first3=Jahandar |last4=Myrow |first4=Paul |last5=Raub |first5=Timothy D. |last6=Landing |first6=Ed |last7=Mills |first7=Andrea |last8=Hodgin |first8=Eben |last9=Macdonald |first9=Francis A. |title=Dodging snowballs: Geochronology of the Gaskiers glaciation and the first appearance of the Ediacaran biota |journal=Geology |date=1 November 2016 |volume=44 |issue=11 |pages=955–958 |doi=10.1130/G38284.1}} with recent evidence suggesting that the event actually started a lot earlier than was previously thought in the underlying Mall Bay Formation.{{cite journal |last1=Fitzgerald |first1=Danielle M. |last2=Narbonne |first2=Guy M. |last3=Pufahl |first3=Peir K. |last4=Dalrymple |first4=Robert W. |title=The Mall Bay Formation (Ediacaran) and the protracted onset of the Gaskiers glaciation in Newfoundland, Canada |journal=Precambrian Research |date=June 2024 |volume=405 |pages=107369 |doi=10.1016/j.precamres.2024.107369|doi-access=free }}
