Indo-Pak Joint Judicial Committee

The Indo-Pak Joint Judicial Committee is composed of eight retired judges{{spaced ndash}}four each from India and Pakistan{{spaced ndash}}charged with investigating the situation of civilians imprisoned in the gaols of the other country and to obtain and facilitate their release,{{cite web |url=http://zeenews.india.com/news/nation/india-pak-joint-committee-to-visit-tihar-jail_736371.html |title= India-Pak Joint Committee to visit Tihar jail |author=PTI|author-link=Press_Trust_of_India |date=13 October 2011 |work=Zee News |access-date=20 February 2012}} especially that of fishermen imprisoned for straying across territorial waters.{{cn|date=February 2012}} The Committee was formed in January 2007. Since then it has visited gaols in Pakistan in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, in April 2011 and Amritsar, Jaipur and Tihar gaols in October 2011.
