Length

This may be a relatively notable subject, but do we really need 327 KB about Brazilian football transfers? It's the third longest article on Wikipedia right now. It should at least be split into separate lists, maybe a different list of transfers for each Brazilian team. Someone the Person (talk) 17:55, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

: I reduced it to 285k and made it render, and fixed the broken refs. Could still be shrunk a little by equating common references. Rich Farmbrough, 13:30, 1 October 2009 (UTC).

::Is there a reason not to use {{tl|reflist}} with |3 for 3 columns? Works for me... ninety:one 19:03, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Flag icons

The list is already very long, and the icons were making it slow to load, so I have removed them. Excessive usage is discouraged by Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Icons, as is simply putting in a flag without a country name. It may be seen as helpful to indicate nationality of some players, or the nationality of non-Brazilian teams. I suggest this is done by adding an extra column or two, and putting in the text names of the countries - this can be sortable, so a reader can sort into countries players transferred from/to in the 2008 season.
