The Levant ({{langx|ro|Levantul}}) is a 1990 epic poem by the Romanian writer Mircea Cărtărescu. Consisting of twelve cantos in verse, the narrative begins in the early 19th century, and follows a band of Wallachian adventurers and pirates, who return to their native land in an attempt to overthrow an oppressor. Cărtărescu uses the poem to highlight oriental influences in Romanian culture.{{Cite book|last=Segel|first=Harold B.|authorlink=Harold Segel|year=2008|title=The Columbia literary history of Eastern Europe since 1945|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=VAI7O9prinMC&pg=PA202|location=New York City|publisher=Columbia University Press|pages=202|ISBN=978-0-231-13306-7}}
