I'm a Parliamentary Researcher working in the House of Commons in the United Kingdom. Previous to this, I was a postgraduate history student in modern history, with a special interest in military history. My interests remain historical, but also political.
My areas of particular interest this year are:
- Eighteen century British Imperial history
- European Diplomatic history
- The socio-ecomonic aspects of the American Civil War
Previous areas I have studied include:
- The English Reformation
- Central European History 1740-1919
- Machiavelli's il Principe
- Contemporary military strategy
- Various other overview courses
- Medieval Papal and Holy Roman Imperial History
- The history of popular culture in early modern Europe
- Trends in opposition and heresy in the late medieval period.
Not currently working on any articles - focusing on reviewing and assessing. Have a few articles that I want to brush up when I get the time, mainly in the American Revolutionary War section, which was the focus of both my degrees.
Currently on a private assessment drive - I check the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Unassessed_military_history_articles unassessed military history page] and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Unassessed_Politics_articles unassessed politics page] as often as I can.
