About Friendly Wiki

A beautifully accessible way to read and explore Wikipedia

Friendly Wiki is a modern, minimal front-end for Wikipedia — built to be cleaner, more readable, and more accessible for everyone.

The project began with a personal mission. Its creator was inspired by his girlfriend, who has dyslexia, and often found traditional Wikipedia difficult to navigate. What started as an idea to make reading easier soon grew into something much bigger: a platform that could serve students, researchers, and curious minds alike — without distractions or clutter.

Friendly Wiki is completely open source. It’s built using simple, efficient technologies that prioritize clarity, speed, and usability. Anyone can read, contribute, or fork the project. Our goal is to create a community-driven alternative that still connects to the full depth of Wikipedia’s knowledge — just with a better interface and friendlier experience.

We’ve added features like clean article sections, a smart table of contents, dyslexia-friendly typography, and a responsive design that feels at home on both mobile and desktop — all inspired by Apple’s design philosophy of elegance through simplicity.
