The 2007 BWF World Championships was the 16th tournament of BWF World Championships (World Badminton Championships). It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 13 to 19 August 2007.

Host city selection

Aarhus{{cite web|title=Badminton VM kommer næppe til Århus|url=http://www.aarhusportalen.dk/vis_artikel.asp?ArticleId=18361|website=aarhusportalen.dk|access-date=1 April 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170402081452/http://www.aarhusportalen.dk/vis_artikel.asp?ArticleId=18361|archive-date=2 April 2017|url-status=dead}} and Kuala Lumpur were the candidates for hosting the championships. Kuala Lumpur was later announced as the host during 2005 IBF council meeting in Beijing.{{cite web|title=Kuala Lumpur to host 2007 badminton worlds|url=http://en.people.cn/200505/08/eng20050508_184062.html|website=en.people.cn|access-date=1 April 2017}} China also expressed interest, but ultimately did not bid.
