History

BPC was founded as a non-profit organization in 2007{{Cite web |title=Cadmus’ Kevin Bush Appointed to Bipartisan Policy Center Task Force |url=https://cadmusgroup.com/news/cadmus-kevin-bush-appointed-to-bipartisan-policy-center-task-force/ |access-date=2024-10-16 |website=Cadmus |language=en-US}} by former Senate majority leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole, and George J. BPC partners with a political action committee called BPC Action. BPC Action is "committed to seeing bipartisan policy solutions enacted into law", and "[works] closely with [its] 501(c)(3) partner, the Bipartisan Policy Center, to advance smart policies through the legislative process". BPC Action is a separate, 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization.{{Cite web |title=About Us |url=https://bpcaction.org/about-us/ |access-date=March 5, 2020 |website=BPC Action}}{{Secondary source needed|date=July 2023}}
