Caminibacter hydrogeniphilus is a species of thermophilic, hydrogen-oxidizing bacterium. It is anaerobic, rod-shaped (1.01-5 x 0.5 micrometres), motile and has polar flagella. The type strain is AM1116T (= DSM 14510T = CIP 107140T).{{cite journal|last1=Alain|first1=K.|title=Caminibacter hydrogeniphilus gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel thermophilic, hydrogen-oxidizing bacterium isolated from an East Pacific Rise hydrothermal vent|journal=International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology|volume=52|issue=4|year=2002|pages=1317–1323|issn=1466-5026|doi=10.1099/ijs.0.02195-0}}
