If an image here was directly created by the British Government (or certain agencies thereof) and published prior to {{#expr:{{CURRENTYEAR}}-50}} please change the {{tl|PD-UK}} to {{tl|PD-UKGov}} (See [http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikipedia-l/2005-May/022055.html HMSO 2005 email reply.]}}, If it was published after that date, check the source carefully as it may qualify as free under the terms of {{tl|OGL}}, although full attribution must still be given.
If an image here has an author that cannot be determined by reasonable research, and the work was created prior to {{#expr: {{CURRENTYEAR}} - 70}}, consider replacing {{tl|PD-UK}} with {{tl|PD-UK-unknown}}
If the image is sufficiently old, that its creators died before {{#expr: {{CURRENTYEAR}} - 100}}, consider replacing the {{tl|PD-UK}} tag with {{tl|PD-old-100}}.
If an image here was published before 1923, then consider replacing {{tl|PD-UK}} with {{tl|PD-US-1923-abroad}}.
If an image here satisfies the conditions in {{tl|PD-US-unpublished}}, then the {{tl|PD-UK}} copyright tag should be amended to read {{tlp|PD-UK|commons}}, and {{tl|PD-US-unpublished}} should be added.
If an image here was NOT in the PD in the United Kingdom as of the URAA date (1 January 1996), and doesn't satisfy {{tl|PD-1923}} or {{tl|PD-US-unpublished}}, then the US copyright has been restored and the image should be amended to read {{tlx|PD-UK|restored}}, an appropriate non-free license tag and non-free use rationale should also be provided.
If an image here WAS in the PD in the United Kingdom as of the URAA date, (see above) then the image license tag should be amened to read {{tlx|PD-UK|commons}}. {{tl|PD-URAA}} also can be added, but please be aware of subsisting copyrights.
