David John Collier MM (12 April 1894 – 30 November 1972) was a Welsh semi-professional football inside right who played in the Football League for Grimsby Town. Personal life

Collier served in the Welsh Regiment during the First World War and was awarded the Military Medal for an act of heroism at Mametz Wood during the Battle of the Somme in July 1916.{{Cite web |url=http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/local-news/war-hero-traces-family-tree-2238720 |title=War hero traces family tree on TV |last=Edwards |first=Dave |date=25 July 2007 |website=walesonline |access-date=15 March 2019}} He suffered shrapnel wounds to the leg during the engagement.
