=== Lineage ===
He is the son of Nazir Ahmad (son of Abdul Subhan, son of Hassan Ali, son of Usman Ali, son of Ameer Fattah, son of Ameer Haala).
His maternal grandfather was Maulana Yar Muhammad, a graduate of Darul Uloom Deoband and a disciple of Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi.

Early Islamic Education:
He began his Qur’anic education under the guidance of his respected mother.
School Education:
He studied in school up to the third grade and left in 1971.
Religious Education:
- Madrasa Arabia Islamia, Bhodarkata, Chittagong (1972–1976): Studied from Ibtidaiyah to Saniah.
- Darul Uloom Muinul Islam, Hathazari, Chittagong (1977–1982): Continued from third to seventh year.
- Darul Uloom Deoband, India (1983): Completed Daurah Hadith.
- Jamia Uloom Islamia, Allama Banuri Town, Karachi (1984–1986): Specialization in Islamic Sciences (Takhassus fi al-Fiqh and Hadith).
= Appointment at Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia =
Following the instructions of Mufti Abdul Salam Sahib, an application was submitted for appointment at Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia. As a result, in the year 1407 AH (1987 AD), Mufti Ahmad ur Rahman Sahib appointed him to the Darul Ifta department of the Jamia. With affectionate counsel, he advised, "Miyan (dear), sit in the Darul Ifta and serve with sincerity." From the following year, he also commenced teaching in the books department of the Jamia, thus beginning a new chapter in his academic journey.

He took Bay’ah from Hazrat Maulana Hakim Akhtar (RA) in 1996 and was later honored with Khilafah. He is among the earliest Khulafa of Hazrat Hakim Akhtar (RA).
Early life and education
He was born in 1961
His early education began with Qur'anic learning under his mother. He left formal schooling after the third grade in 1971 and pursued traditional Islamic studies.
He studied at:
- Madrasah Arabia Islamia Bhadar Kata, Chittagong (until 1976)
- Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam-Hathazari (1977–1982)
- Darul Uloom Deoband, India (Dora-e-Hadith, 1983)
- Jamia Uloom Islamia Allama Muhammad Yousuf Banuri Town , Karachi (Specialization in Fiqh and Hadith, 1984–1986)
Career
In 1987 (1407 AH), Mufti Qasmi was appointed to Jamia Uloom Islamia by Mufti Ahmad ur Rahman and Mufti Abdul Salam Chatgami. He began teaching in the books department and was soon appointed to the Dar al-Ifta, where he has been issuing religious verdicts (fatwas) and teaching advanced Islamic texts.
He has taught major books including:

- Sharh Ma‘ani al-Athar
- Diwan al-Hamasa
- Hujjat Allah al-Baligha
- Tawdih wa al-Talwih
