Mathimaran Pugazhendhi is an Indian film director and screenwriter primarily working in the Tamil film industry. From the school of renowned film director Vetrimaaran, Mathimaran is an academically qualified Computer Science Engineer and worked on multiple roles in critically and commercially successful Tamil movies.
Personal Life
Mathimaran was born in Cuddalore. His father E.Pugazhendhi is an Indian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu who was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Cuddalore constituency in 1989, 1996 and 2001 elections.
He is married to Jayashree who is also lyric writer and worked on Tamil movies like Selfie, Amaran.
Career
After completing his engineering studies, Mathimaran has started to work with the renowned Director Vetrimaaran as an Assistant Director. After learning the art and techniques of film making from his mentor Vetrimaaran by working in critically acclaimed movies like Aadukalam, Viduthalai 1, Viduthalai 2, Mathimaran debuted his Direction career with critically acclaimed Tamil movie Selfie.
