Rajesh M Hegde is currently a Professor (HAG) and Umang Gupta Chair Professor,  in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur.   He was also the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering between (2020-2023) and the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) between (2019-2021) at IIT Kanpur. He has also served as the Head Center for Railway Research IIT Kanpur, Director IIT Kanpur Research Technology Park Foundation, Governing Body Member Technology Innovation Hub, IIT Patna . He was also awarded the  P.K. Kelkar Fellowship between 2009-2013 at IIT Kanpur.  His areas of interest include Machine Learning, AI, future wireless networks, pervasive/mobile communication, WSN, IoT, speech/audio processing for ASR and VR, and multimodal information fusion. He also has considerable interest in robotics applications.
