Early Life

Mahtemework was born on September 1, 1991, in Northwest, Washington, D.C. to an African-American mother and Ethiopian father. He was given the name “Mebraknegodguwad Mahtemework” which translates into “lighting, thunder sealed in gold” in Amharic due to his father’s embrace of Rastafarianism and
