Laverne Joseph "Tarzan" Torczon (Pronounced: "TORE-sun") (January 1, 1936 – April 18, 2015) was an American football defensive end.{{Cite web |date=April 20, 2015 |title=LaVerne Torczon |url=http://columbustelegram.com/news/local/obituaries/laverne-torczon/article_8f64e8cd-a29c-5c0d-b85a-3bb13f03a160.html |access-date=April 30, 2015 |publisher=columbustelegram.com}} He played college football at the University of Nebraska, and played professionally in the American Football League (AFL) for the Buffalo Bills, the New York Titans/Jets, and the Miami Dolphins. He was the Sporting News selection as an AFL All-League defensive end in 1960 and played in the 1961 AFL All-Star game.
