Scutogyrus vanhovei is a species of monopisthocotylean monogenean in the family Ancyrocephalidae. It is known to Tilapia species, particularly Tilapia mariae, and was first found in Cameroon. It can be differentiated from its cogenerates by the presence of a distinct swollen portion of its penis.{{cite journal|last1=Pariselle|first1=Antoine|last2=Bitja Nyom|first2=Arnold R.|last3=Bilong|first3=Charles F.|title=Checklist of the ancyrocephalids (Monogenea) parasitizing Tilapia species in Cameroon, with the description of three new species|journal=Zootaxa|volume=3599|issue=1|year=2013|pages=78–86|issn=1175-5334|doi=10.11646/zootaxa.3599.1.7|PMID=24583817|url=https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/hal-01923478|url-access=subscription}}
