China supported Anti Soviet Mujahideen fighters

China, Pakistan and Israel all cooperated in a massive gun running scheme to arm the mujahideen.

Cooley is a reliable source for china and israel's dealings in Afghanistan, although much of his attempts to deal with the history of islam in china is wrong. (he didn't know at all about the fact that the Second East Turkestan republic was a soviet puppet state)
