Pirate?

I have read some things that mention that pirate is Billie's nickname and not actually her middle name. Anyone found a reputable source that says that pirate is in fact her actual middle name? ~~~~ TechChickCapri (talk) 18:47, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

:she said in a few interviews her full name and pirate is in fact one of her middle names 2A02:C7E:6040:900:8054:904F:AD8C:FF7A (talk) 20:02, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

:yes same i saw that 94.202.241.34 (talk) 17:16, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

Can we add the name pervin minalayy

She is also known as pervin minalay 2A02:C7C:7314:BE00:C404:7F0:E7E9:2E84 (talk) 22:09, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Not vegan

Claims to be vegan but wears wool. Article needs changing to "plant based". She IS NOT vegan.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/feb/03/over-the-moon-billie-eilish-sports-188-year-old-yorkshire-wool-brand-at-grammys 92.234.129.181 (talk) 22:15, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

:Agreed. If no one else is going to update this I'll do so when I'm at my PC tomorrow. Incredibly unhappy that this misinformation is allowed to disseminate. Will be removing her from "List of vegans" and noting that despite previously being pro-animal rights, she has since opted to wear wool. Bens dream (talk) 02:37, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

::Now added information about her wearing wool and removed her from List of vegans. Hopefully I don't get any buffoons trying to argue with me that because she says she's vegan, we have to say she is this time. That was a royal pain last time I updated this. Bens dream (talk) 09:26, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

:::Not just wool. She rides horses as seen here [https://pagesix.com/2022/11/12/billie-eilish-rides-horse-after-revealing-it-helps-with-stress/]. She wears leather [https://www.moviemarket.com/sp062920-39/billie-eilish-in-brown-leather-outfit-at-award-ceremony-8x10-photo/] and she has been seen on her instagram eating cheetos which anyone can look up and see they contain cheese, buttermilk etc [https://www.ewg.org/foodscores/products/028400433938-CheetosCrunchyCheeseFlavoredSnacksFlaminHot/]. She is very likely eating eggs. It is only a matter of time until she is the next Miley Cyrus or Lizzo making a "I am no longer vegan" video for media attention. Most celebrities are not vegan. I suggest looking at the talk-page of the list of vegans article which contains non-vegans, where this has been well documented. I will add her to the list there. Veg Historian (talk) 12:07, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

:::I see in the edit history log you found another source where she admits to consuming honey [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1i4gmOHD6E] around the 2minute mark. Veg Historian (talk) 12:13, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

::::I've now added the mention of horse riding, leather, and honey to the page. Do you happen to know if there's a source stating that the leather jacket in the picture is real leather? I can tell from looking at it that it is, but in order to be able to source it I'd need something concrete. Bens dream (talk) 16:52, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

:::::Not enough sourcing unfortunately on that. I get serious Steve-O vibes from Billie Eilish. I suspect in the next 4-5 years she will release a "I am no longer vegan" video which the media will pick up on. Until then we will not have much other sourcing unfortunately. Veg Historian (talk) 18:45, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

::::::Perhaps it might make sense to just change the reference to note that she is outspoken about animal rights and claims to follow a vegan diet? The referenced sources do indicate that she has engaged in non-vegan activities, but they do not seem to indicate that this has inspired controversy or claims of hypocrisy (other than the personal views stated on this talk page). For instance, the article on the wool partnership does not mention the word veganism. Abulaphia9 (talk) 01:58, 21 February 2025 (UTC)

:::::::She was historically outspoken about animal rights and has historically claimed to follow a vegan diet (despite the contrary being provable), but I haven't seen anything about it from her in recent years. I think it's already offering her too much goodwill to say "She is a regular advocate on social media for animal rights and veganism" in the present tense. If we're going to include her thoughts on this, we absolutely have to dispel the myth that she's vegan, otherwise it's incredibly harmful to the cause. Bens dream (talk) 16:39, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

::::::::She has been described as vegan in recent news articles: [https://www.vox.com/future-perfect/384508/billie-eilish-singer-songwriter-vegan-climate-animal-rights-activism-future-perfect-50] and she has made public vegan advocacy in the last year: see [https://vegnews.com/billie-eilish-120-favorite-vegan-restaurants] and [https://www.ktvu.com/news/sap-center-san-jose-go-all-vegan-two-billie-eilish-concerts]. Abulaphia9 (talk) 19:11, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

:::::::::It doesn't matter what she claims to be or advocates for - there is proof of her wearing wool as recently as last month, making it performative at best. If she ate steak every night no-one would be debating this, and ultimately whether it's wool or steak it's not vegan either way. Bens dream (talk) 17:14, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

:While I didn’t think this was a serious conversation, the obvious word vegetarian is more suitable as she verifiably doesn’t eat meat. Trillfendi (talk) 16:44, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

:The article doesn't say Eilish is vegan. It says she is an advocate for veganism, and that she has criticised the dairy, mink fur and wool industries. This is reliably sourced. The fact that she wears wool and rides horses doesn't mean she can't advocate for vegans. The sources that were provided on the page don't say that there has been any criticism of her advocacy. If someone would like to add a sentence stating criticism exists, provide reliable sources that actually say this. Weasel words and your personal opinions cannot be used on the article. Strugglehouse (talk) 17:59, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

Is it okay to have information about her dating life in here?

As stated in the article, she said "I wish no one knew anything about my sexuality or anything about my dating life. Ever, ever, ever. And I hope that they never will again. And I'm never talking about my sexuality ever again. And I'm never talking about who I'm dating ever again."

So is it ethical for us to have the information in the article about her previous partners if it is about her personal life that she has specifically said she does not want to be public? I don't feel like it adds necessary information to the article in such a way that it needs to be left on it. 32.220.209.103 (talk) 22:51, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

:@32.220.209.103 Information is not usually removed unless it goes against Wikipedia's guidelines. If information in the article is reliably sourced, it doesn't tend to be removed unless there are specific, legal reasons why it cannot be included. Strugglehouse (talk) 12:49, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

Billie Eilish: How it started.

"When she was 8 years old, Eilish joined the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, where she learned to hone her vocal talent. By age 11, she began writing songs in earnest with the help of her mother’s songwriting class."
