Sampled artists' credits
Did you guys notice how many of the sampled artists on the album were credited as producers instead? I think Bad Bunny is not giving credits properly. I was checking other artists' albums and sampled artists are always credited as songwriters. In this Wikipedia article, I think we should credit them as songwriters. :In my opinion we need to take into account that there aren't any physical releases or liner notes yet, so any credits we have on digital platforms are the most accurate.
:[https://open.spotify.com/album/5K79FLRUCSysQnVESLcTdb Here's the Spotify], [https://music.apple.com/us/album/deb%C3%AD-tirar-m%C3%A1s-fotos/1787022393 Apple Music], [https://www.deezer.com/us/album/693008911 Deezer], [https://www.qobuz.com/gb-en/album/debi-tirar-mas-fotos-bad-bunny/lwyrfdrp293ub Qobuz] [https://listen.tidal.com/album/409386860/credits and Tidal pages] for the album – all of them credit the sampled/interpolated artists as producers.
:Songview does credit them as writers but that also takes into account the normal producers, and most of them aren't credited in streaming services except Spotify.
:This can probably be revised when physical releases come out but for now we should stick to labeling them as producers. ! Quwoting2 {converse} 10:34, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
::@Quwoting2, I still think it's not the best option for us to adhere to the credits that are currently on digital platforms since we know for a fact they're not accurate. Sampled/interpolated artists are being credited as producers when they're, in fact, songwriters. Maybe we could add a note with an explanation? Thedayandthetime (talk) 14:59, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
:::That would only add clutter Quwoting2 / Mhm? 01:36, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
::I was checking other articles and it looks like there's a common misconception when it comes to songwriting credits. Many artists mistakenly use "lyricist" and "writer" interchangeably. This happens often with independent artists and labels. Take for example Miley Cyrus who independently released an album in 2015, and [https://web.archive.org/web/20160305163417/http://mileycyrus.com/credits here, on her official website credits] she initially appeared as the sole songwriter for multiple songs.
::After several years, the same album was released via a major label. On every streaming platform she is now not credited as the sole songwriter on many songs. That's a proof that her website was using "writer" as an equivalent word for lyricist. Bad Bunny and his label are mistakenly using "writer" instead of "lyricist". That's why they're also crediting sampled artists as producers, because they don't understand that composers are also songwriters. Thedayandthetime (talk) 15:19, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
:::Leaving this here as well. Per WP:PRIMARY, "deciding whether primary, secondary, or tertiary sources are appropriate in any given instance is a matter of good editorial judgment and common sense". @Sbb618 Thedayandthetime (talk) 20:28, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
::::I mentioned this in another comment, but no one responded. Cuatro, tiple, and bordonúa (traditional plucked string instruments of Puerto Rico) are heard on this album, but nobody is credited as the players of these instruments. Why? Luis Sanz and Fabiola Méndez play these instruments with Bad Bunny on his recent Tiny Desk Concert promoting this album, and Luis Sanz has posted online that he played cuatro and bordonúa on at least one track for this album. 98.123.38.211 (talk) 16:50, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::Yet another example of the inaccurate official credits. Thedayandthetime (talk) 00:53, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::Here's a [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Deb%C3%AD_Tirar_M%C3%A1s_Fotos&diff=prev&oldid=1275633573 revision] with (now archived) Spotify giving proper credits to songwriters. Per WP:CON, "consensus on Wikipedia does not require unanimity (which is ideal but rarely achievable)". The only person opposing to my edits is Quwoting2. Personnel list missing musicians/instruments
Why is the personnel list in the current version of this article missing musicians and instruments? For example, a Puerto Rican cuatro (and bordonúa) is heard prominently in some of the tracks. Why leave out the name of the player??? I think one of the players is Luis Sanz. 98.123.38.211 (talk) 17:27, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
