{{DYK talk|17 September|2007|entry=...that Harriet Howard was not only Louis Napoleon's mistress, but also financed his successful 1851 coup d'état?}}

Syntactic ambiguity

"Born the daughter of a bootmaker and the granddaughter of the owner of the Castle Hotel"=

"Born the daughter of (a bootmaker and the granddaughter of the owner of the Castle Hotel)"

or

"Born (the daughter of a bootmaker) and (the granddaughter of the owner of the Castle Hotel)"?

Either way the construction is fairly awkward. --131.215.167.245 23:54, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

She died on one of the islands off the shore from Cannes/her castle/Chesnay?

It illreads:

” She died in her castle on 19 August 1865 at 6:30 pm. She is buried alongside her son in the cemetery of Le Chesnay, located less than 900 metres from the château (now almost totally destroyed).”

I have heard it said that she died on one of the islands off the coast of Cannes. Would be rather interesting if she did indeed, seeing as the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned on one of those ilands next Cannes. 2A00:23C7:2B13:9001:15E3:5A4C:8600:F6C3 (talk) 03:32, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
