Feminism section

The fourth paragraph of the Feminism section ends with an unfinished sentence and a comma. I have no idea what the writer of that piece of a sentence intended to put after it. As it is, it pretty much just says "some people in the media reacted to this stuff!", which was already apparent from the rest of the paragraph and the previous one, and seems superfluous. Even if it was meant to be followed by something about how the media's reaction affected her career, or how Heigl reacted to the reaction, or whatever, the beginning of the sentence, with all its sources, seems totally unnecessary after the previous paragraph's "Heigl's comments spurred widespread reaction in the media" and the sources for everything in that paragraph and the next. Should this piece of a sentence, along with its sources, be removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.57.9.7 (talk) 18:31, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

::I have removed the entire section "feminism" for multiple reasons. It was incomplete and made absolutely no sense. There was no proof she has shown support for, made criticism of, or even discussed the topic at length. Many of the sources themselves had nothing to with the topic; they mostly focused on a few comments she made about one particular film (Knocked Up). All it proved was that she made comments criticizing that particular films portrayal of female characters. If the person or people who wrote that section would like to keep her comments regarding the film, they should either: make a new section devoted to that subject, include those comments in a different section, or redo the section called "Feminism", provided they show significant evidence that it is actually noteworthy. Parents religion

If his father is from german ancestors and her mother from irish, I think he is the lutheran and her mother the catolic. GastonSenac (talk) 04:42, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

:I see Katherine Heigl converted to Islam on the newspaper and magazine. --Gtabigfan2010 (talk) 17:46, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

::Heigl's father was half German and half Irish, which could explain why he is Catholic. Heigl's mother's father was German as well - not sure if Heigl's maternal grandmother was. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 10:15, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

:::Ah, her maternal grandmother, Margaretta Jane Debus, was also of German descent. Here is a [http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=PED&db=dparsonssr%5F1&id=I23968 genealogy]. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 07:37, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation

I added a mention of the charity she founded and the external link.

Also a news link mentioning the work of the charity. http://www.jasonheiglfoundation.org/images/latimes12102009.html

Not a Doctor!

"Heigl had auditioned for all three of the show's female leads (the other two roles eventually went to Shiri Appleby and Majandra Delfino) before she was finally cast as Isabel, the doctor that cared all too much about her patients."

Just FYI, she didn't play a doctor in Roswell. This is wrongo! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.213.131.190 (talk) 23:59, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Easy enough to be confused, since her Grey's character (a doctor) is also named isabel...72.213.138.75 (talk) 07:31, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

The Onion

I just removed a line from this article noting that the satirical website The Onion ran an article mocking her films. While this is true, The Onion has made fun of lots of people. If we added such a line to the article of every person they've mocked, things would get very silly very fast. We don't need to mention parodies and satire unless they're particularly notable. Infobox photo discussion

Please discuss changes to the infobox image rather than edit war over it on the article. We are faced with four very similar photos, all from the same event. Please discuss and achieve consensus on which one should be preferred.

:I'd go with number four. The first, as you note, has background clutter, the second has a terrible hot spot on her forehead, and the third, which is highly similar to the fourth, is too dark. --Tenebrae (talk) 02:59, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

::I agree that the fourth picture is the best. TRLIJC19 (talk) 08:23, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Date of last credit for Grey's Anatomy

The last episode of Grey's Anatomy in which Katerine Heigl was listed in the acting credits was Episode 18 of Season 6, "Suicide is Painless," which aired on March 25, 2010. This was the sixth consecutive episode for which she was identified as a "credit only" cast member before she was dropped from the credits entirely. The last time she actually appeared on the show was Episode 12 of Season 6, "I Like You Much Better When You are Naked," which aired on January 21, 2010. The ending date for her participation in this series is, therefore, 2010, not 2012. [Ref. Grey's Anatomy, ABC, Season 6 (2009-2010).]MarilynConant (talk) 22:41, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Career trajectory ---> down

It would be interesting to have a section on how her career has taken a nosedive because of her reputation as being notoriously difficult to work with.

Children

"In June 2016, the couple announced that they were expecting their third child"

I do not really particularly care one way or the other - but I believe that, technically, if you adopt two children, you can not write "expecting their third child", because that would imply that you already have had two kids prior to that you could "expect", which strikes me as inaccurate if the other two kids were adopted. It's not really hugely important, but I simply think the terminology is not correct. Though that depends on what "expecting" means, but I believe most would agree that this means a biological direct offspring carried by the mother (this would thus also exclude OTHER mothers so only refer to the biological one). May be nitpicking but I still think the terminology is incorrect. 2A02:8388:1641:8380:0:0:0:4 (talk) 20:27, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

:I think I see how this is striking you, but "They were expecting their third child" isn't "For the third time, they were expecting a child." It's "They're expecting a child. It will be their third child." Which is absolute fact—unless your objection isn't about the word "expecting" but about the numbering of children when some are adopted and others aren't. Would you disagree with a description of the second child they adopted as "their second child"? Largoplazo (talk) 22:34, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
