Syphilis

I've always heard that Maurice Barrymore's breakdown was due to the effects of syphilis. Shouldn't this be mentioned, either as rumor or fact? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ironhills (talkcontribs) 18:08, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Middleweight boxing championship of England in 1872

This is impossible, at the time there was no middleweight title, the division and title did not come into existence until 1889. 2A00:23C7:301E:5101:BE51:1CA8:2332:E67C (talk) 01:25, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

:He won the Amateur Middleweight Boxing Championship March 21, 1872 under his birth name Herbert Blythe(or Blyth). This was in the bare knuckle era but am not sure how they boxed in England in the Amateurs. There 'was' however a middleweight division in the 1870s, see Jem Mace. I'd like to know what Maurice's cup or trophy looked like. John and Lionel and them might have had it but Im not sure. Great statement for asking by the way. Koplimek (talk) 01:46, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
