{{dyktalk|18 November|2007|entry=...that mercury(IV) fluoride (model pictured), the first mercury compound ever to have an oxidation state of 4, was synthesized at 4 degrees above absolute zero?}}

Shape

Is there any direct experimental evidence at all that the molecule is planar and not tetrahedral? The cited review of Wang et al states there is no structural data for HgF4. 76.212.128.2 (talk) 05:27, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Oxidant

Since HgF4 is highly unstable - even more unstable than the strongest known oxidant KrF2 - is it possible that it is an even stronger oxidant? Or is it just unstable due to entropic reasons? --79.243.250.21 (talk) 20:04, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

This is probably not a thing
