I found a reference study (http://pmep.cce.cornell.edu/profiles/extoxnet/haloxyfop-methylparathion/metaldehyde-ext.html#1). While it is not enough to reference all the information on the page it has information on metaldehyde being used as slug and snail molluscicide as well as for meta-fuel. It also disagrees with the wikipedia pages statement on metaldehyde having carcinogenic effects. Feltcap (talk) 17:54, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
:Apologies, found link to a more recent revision of the same study (http://extoxnet.orst.edu/pips/metaldeh.htm), contains more referenceable material including a ref for the IUPAC chemical name, etc. Still disagrees with carcinogenic properties. Also says low toxicity to aquatic organisms, potentially disagreeing with the statement that metaldehyde is toxic to all animals that ingest, or at least making it overgeneralized.Feltcap (talk) 18:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
