If you're reading this then you could have come across me from a variety of directions. In terms of Wikipedia pages I have contributed to the entries for Wilhelmina Barns-Graham (1912-2004) and John Clerk of Eldin (1728 -1812).

I have been closely involved with Wilhelmina Barns-Graham's life and work since 1989, and for fifteen years (until 2019) held the position of chairman for The Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust which she established in 1987.

Rather longer in time has been my interest in John Clerk of Eldin, whose etching were the subject of my M.Litt degree while at Edinburgh University. After a thirty year gap I published a book on this subject in 2012 as part of the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of his death.

I have worked in the art business for over forty years, in commercial art galleries (Aitken Dott & Son, Edinburgh, nowadays The Scottish Gallery; Theo Waddington Galleries, Toronto; The Scottish Gallery, London; and as founding director of Art First, London, which I left in 2004. Since 2005 I have had my own business promoting selected Somerset artists. My business has expanded into Old Master prints, specifically landscape etchings from 1560 to 1820.

I am open to discussing any of the edits and contributions I make to the Wikipages. Feel free to email me at geoffrey@bertram-arts.com .
