Mozart's horn concertos (?)

afc top

Mozart composed four different horn concertos for his good friend Joseph Leutgeb. In each concerto there are three seperate movements. The general feel of these movements usually fast, slow, faster.

The first and last usually have lots of short notes and feel energized, (the musical term would be "staccato"). The second movement is always slower and more smooth, ("legato").

In the first and last movement of each concerto there is a similar pattern of short, smooth, short that is also in a major key, minor key, major key fashion.

Rhampholeon brevicaudatus

Commonly know as the "bearded leaf chameleon" or commonly "leaf/pygmy chameleon," R. Brevicaudatus originates from the eastern Usambara and Uluguru mountains in northeastern Tanzania. It is easily distiguished from others in the Rampholeon family by the presence of a "beard" below the mouth, consisting of a few raised scales. At a full grown length of only a few inches (~3" or 8cm), it is marked by somewhat drab coloring in comparison to other chameleons, usually assuming a brown or tan coloring. It is quite capable of changing its coloration though, often taking on a shade to blend into the background and becoming darker when under stress. It is also capable of compressing its body laterally and producing a stripe down its side, mimicing a dead leaf. It often assumes this form when sleeping in the open. Males are distinguished by a longer tail, more prominent dorsal crest, slimmer body type, and persistent patterning. Like others in the Chamaeleonidae family, it is distinguished by independently rotating eye sockets and a tongue longer than its body.

Image:Rbrevi2.jpg

Captive Care
Partial to cooler temperatures than other chameleons, R. Brevicaudatus prefers a temperature between 70-80F with a slight drop at night. It is unkown if they utilize UV light, and many keepers report sucess with simple halogen or florescent lighting. Basking lights may be provided but are generally not necessary, and care must be taken to keep the temperature down. Being quite small, a five to ten gallon glass aquarium can be used. Regular misting at least twice a day is required, with direct misting of the chameleon recomended. R. brevicaudatus feeds on small insects, in captivity they are partial to crickets, wax worms/moths, houseflies, and others. Though considered fairly hardy, care must be taken to prevent stress, as with other chameleons. Lifespan is generally several years.

A.J. Smith

A.J. Smith is the Executive Vice President/General Manager of the San Diego Chargers. He obtained the job in early 2003 after former Charger General Manager John Butler passed away from cancer. His first year in San Diego was 2001, as the assistant GM to John Butler.

During the 2004 NFL Draft, Smith orchestrated the trade of QB Eli Manning to the New York Giants for QB Philip Rivers.

In just three seasons as the San Diego Chargers Executive Vice President/General Manager, A.J. Smith has turned around a once losing franchise into one of the best franchises in the NFL.

Before his time with San Diego, Smith spent 14 years with the Buffalo Bills, helping them win four AFC Championships in a row during the early 90's.

Grace Bible College

[Grace Bible College http://www.gbcol.edu/] is a fundamentalist Bible college that emphasizes a so-called "hyper-dispensational" interpretation of the Bible. Its approach differs from more standard dispensatinal methods by 1) initiating the beginning of the "invisible Church, the Body of Christ," in the middle of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles (somewhere between Acts 9 and 13) and 2) limiting Biblical revelation that directly applies to the Church to the epistles of Paul. The "invisible Church, the Body of Christ," differs from the institutional church in that it is universal and is not to be identified with any single denomination or tangible church institution. People become "members" of the Body of Christ upon acceptance of Christ as their personal savior. Grace Bible College emphasizes that membership in an institutional church is secondary to membership in the Body of Christ. Membership in an institutional church, though encouraged, cannot "save" you, whereas membership in the Body of Christ occurs at salvation. The typical dispensational approach, which is often associated with Dallas Theological Seminary, begins the Church in Acts 2 and tends to include the gospels and general epistles as revelation that directly applies to the Church. A more-extreme approach to "hyper-dispensationalism" does not begin the Church until the end of Acts and limits the Church epistles to Paul's epistles written after this time (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I & II Timothy, Titus, and Philemon). This approach has often been associated with E.W. Bullinger.

As somewhat of a consequence to its dispensational approach, Grace Bible College does not endorse water baptism as a valid Church practice. Instead, it emphasizes the idea that Christians are "baptized" into the Body of Christ upon belief and that water baptism is a relic of Jesus' "Kingdom" ministry, which was a transition from the Mosiac Law to the Body of Christ.

Other denominational bodies are associated with, though technically independent from, Grace Bible College, including the [Grace Gospel Fellowship http://www.ggfusa.org/] and [Grace Ministries International http://www.gracem.org/].

Shit Flail

The "Shit Flail" is a weapon finding it's roots in medieval tools and weaponry such as, Maces and Morningstars. A Weapon with a solid base, and a hard sphere on top connected by a flacid extension allowing the sphere to move freely in a three hundred and sixty degree motion. The materials used for a shit flail are much cruder however, all one needs is a tube sock and a bowel needing emptying. The person in question, must shit in the sock. This can't be any normal shit, or the squirts, or just the dry shits. You need to work up a log for this action to be successful. Once you've shit in the sock, wave it around your head for a few minutes for two reasons. The first being to intimidate the target, and two so the sheer velocity of the rotating shit compacts it into a hardened but explodable on impact form. The only recorded instance of this action was performed by Doctor Robert Osbourne Sarver III in the early part of 2006.

FUTA

FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act)(United States)

- A tax of 6.2% on $10,000 wage base paid by the employer.

- Discounted up to 5.4% if the state pays into a qualified state-level unemployment plan.

Note: This was done so that employers would put pressure on their states to create qualified state-level plans so that the discount would be available.

Monies from this tax go towards paying for administration of UI (Unemployment Insurance) and Job Service programs in all states that elect to participate, 1/2 the cost of extended unemployment benefits during periods of high unemployment, and loans to states that need to borrow money to pay unemployment benefits.

Paul Chen

Paul Chen is a widely known sword maker (probably Asian American)(according to French language source, he's a Cambodian Chinese). His mass produced (unmarked) standard swords (typically simply named the "Knightly Sword" (or "Norman Sword") and "Viking Sword") are considered to be acceptable training swords by most reenactment groups and can be found in the catalogues of most resellers for reenactment, living history and LARP equipment (usually priced around 90-100 EUR or USD).

He also produces various Japanese swords of varying price and quality ranges and apparently also produces custom designs for some resellers and direct orders.

I'm filing a request rather than creating the article myself because I am not entirely sure whether he meets the notability requirements. His swords can be found in various internet stores (in the US and Europe) and the two basic "Chen swords" are known in most larger reenactment groups (even those who haven't heard of Paul Chen usually recognise the design), but even within this niche he is only usually known for these swords, not as a person.

The problem may be that there are few people in the reenactment scene who are known outside their respective groups or region (or even internationally) and most sword makers are either near-anonymous (only identifiable by their marks) because they take orders via resellers, or only known to a small group of people.

Paul Chen, however, seems to be known in various groups across different countries, and thus seems exceptionally notable by comparison. Also, he seems to be one of the few sword makers who are (apparently) always named specifically by resellers and distributors.

I have to note that I can't find much information on him as a person, tho, so maybe this article will even remain a stub if it passes the notability test.

Just as a sidenote: He seems to work for CIS Iberia, a large company making historical replicas of swords and other weapons and the swords are not technically mass produced as they are produced individually.

Moosehead Studios

Moosehead Studios was created in 1999 by Daniel Skubal as a comical cover name for the films him and his high school friends produced. Once the word spread about the projects, the name stuck.

Moosehead Studios is located in West Lafayette, Indiana and has become one of the top production studios in that area. Their studio has become well-known for producing low budget films with high production value. Some consider Moosehead Studios to be a Guerilla Filmmaking studio because of their quickly-paced production style and on-the-go production set up.

The studio's growth has brought about many new faces and possibilities for them. Some of these new faces include Chris Voelz (film producer), Cody Carter (production assistant), and Quentin Voglund (cinematographer).

The future of Moosehead Studios is promising. Daniel Skubal has confirmed plans to move the studio out to California upon completion of his academic career at Purdue University.

The Viking refers to a college drinking game. There are most likely variations to The Viking but here is one:

1. You must drink 24 beers and eat 2 large pizzas

2. After 12 beers and 1 pizza you must take a lap around your building.

3. The winner is the person to finish first. (Winning times are usually in the 5-7 hours range.)

4. Your only piece of clothing during the above events is an adult diaper.

The Viking has been heard of at both Providence College, in Rhode Island and Harvard in Cambridge, MA.
