{{ear|a|. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:09, 24 June 2011 (UTC)}}

Could I ask someone to have a quick look over on User:Danjel/Rose Bay Secondary College, a draft that I've been working on to replace the stub at Rose Bay Secondary College.

I worked closely with RBSC for quite a few years until earlier this year, so I want to be careful that I haven't tripped over any WP:COI issues. I'm also trying not to include any information that will require references that I simply don't have.

If suggestions could be made at User talk:Danjel/Rose Bay Secondary College, I'd appreciate it. Cheers. I'm cross posting this from WP:EIA. -danjel (talk to me) 06:15, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

{{ear|m|To Talk:Temasek Secondary School#Listing of all achievements, etc.. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:28, 2 October 2011 (UTC)}}

Is there a general consensus about whether we should go about listing out every single achievement and award won by the school? This has been a problem among quite a few Singapore schools, where opinions differ (quite greatly I might add) about whether those things should be included wholly or simply summarised (perhaps highlighting some notable achievements or the like). An example would right now be Temasek Secondary School, where a discussion is currently going on.

Also, I think Temasek Secondary School is no longer a Stub and should be reclassified into Start/something higher. Would someone kindly take a look at it and provide comments as well? Thanks. AngelSL (talk) 09:13, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

[[Central Elementary School (Albemarle, North Carolina)]]

The problem is that a historic school has changed names. It is of course Wikipedia policy (or at least a guideline) that we use the current building name, in this case Central Elementary School. I have used names for buildings in articles I have written only to have the articles moved. So I knew the current name for this building was the best.

The problem is that the elementary school currently occupying the building was in another location for 82 years. Longer if you go by what the school was called for 25 to 50 years before that (I'm having trouble pinning down accurate sources for the construction date). The other location has been vacant for seven years.

A Wikipedia article on this school would surely mention the history of the "school" during those 82 years and of course the 25-50 years the school existed before that. But the building the school now occupies is what makes it notable. An elementary school is not notable enough for Wikipedia. A historic elementary school is, though it is the building that is historic. The elementary school's previous building might be, but I thought it was just too far gone to save, unlike the historic building where the school is now.

I tried explaining this to another editor who wanted to help me with the article, but this editor is so confused he/she can't make productive contributions. I end up having to revert most of them. The last time, I got no repsonse from this person, and so far he/she hasn't said anything. But the last edit summary had incorrect information in it, and it is clear from that and the editor's talk page comment (not the article talk page) that he/she just doesn't understand. While it is all clear to me, I do have the knowledge of what is going on with these buildings. The article is inadequate if it doesn't explain the situation to this person's satisfaction.— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 20:22, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

[[Jack and Jill School]]

This is an elementary school. I don't think they're notable, but I'd like some additional opinions. There's a lot of sources, but they don't seem like significant coverage to me because they seem to be mainly lists of kids winning awards and that doesn't seem to set them apart from most elementary schools. Thanks. Mdtemp (talk) 19:21, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

I think a well-intentioned, fairly new editor may be heading for conflict which might be avoided with a little judicious advice. I ran across some colloquy between the new editor, who is the recent major contributor to the article and a couple of other editors whom I know to be patient, fair, decent and diligent regarding the effort to improve the encyclopedia. I wonder if an early intervention from here might keep things from escalating. See [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Pinchdatail] and this section. It's the school article guidelines that the editor doesn't seem to grasp. The editor didn't take the advice of the good doctor, but they might hear it from this project, since a misunderstanding of the project guidelines are the fundamental issue. If I were to step in, however, I believe I would be perceived as yet another "WikiNazi" piling on, as I am not involved in the project. May wiser heads prevail. On the talk page for this article there is a discussion about the section listing previous head teachers that would benefit from a second opinion. Would anyone be willing to take a look? More general suggestions for improvement gratefully received as well, of course! If there is a question of insufficient citations, it would be appreciated if the cn tag was used, rather than deleting text. Most of the history section comes from a book that was written on the history of the school, so I haven't repeated the same citation on every sentence. Rhanbury (talk) 12:47, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Almost all of the history section has now been deleted because the main source was historical research contained in a book that the school paid for, hence was deemed a non-independent source, however well supported the individual facts were by original historical documents. See discussion on the talk page. Other sections have also been deleted, for various reasons. The article is now rather thin for a school of this age and academic ranking. As a conflicted editor (the Headmistress is my wife) I have agreed not to touch the article directly. : {{ping|Berrely}} This is just a personal opinion, but given the current WP bureaucracy, I can't see this being accepted for main space whatever you do to it. It will be seen as just a Saturday School- and therefore not notable. A better bet would be to work it up in Fortismere School#Hosting the Rustam School as a section. It can be reached by a redirect. If the text becomes overly large then you have a stronger case for a stand alone article. And no, I don't know of any specific advice pages. Happy to talk.

[[Hurst Lodge School]]

Advice about this one please. Hurst Lodge School was an independent school which merged with Hawley Place School, for which we do not have an article - there is a reference at Hawley, Hampshire#Amenities. The merged school was on the Hawley Place site and used the name HawleyHurst. This school apparently went into administration and closed in 2020 (unreferenced statement in Hurst Lodge article). The school has now re-opened, still on the Hawley Place site but now using the name Hurst Lodge. This needs to be acknowledged in the Hurst Lodge article somehow - text from the new school's website has already been added twice and reverted. Should the new school have a new article as it is a different site? The new iteration of Hurst Lodge has a different URN to its previous incarnation, but I'm not sure if it is the same as HawleyHurst's one. Thanks. Tacyarg (talk) 17:35, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

:School article are, generally, more about an organization than about a building. So I think in this case a new article Hurst Lodge School (established 2020) might be written. The existing article is about a different organization which presumably was notable and it's article should not replaced with coverage of the new organization re-using the same name. ::Thanks for this, now done. New article could do with some watchers as there have been what appear to be CoI issues on the previous school's article - copy/paste of text from the new school'a website. Tacyarg (talk) 18:01, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

[[The Durham Free School]]

I would like to suggest the creation of a page for Durham Free School (In Durham, UK). I feel it is notable as it was one of the first free schools opened in the area, and it demonstrated how poor the free schools concept was. There was significant coverage in the news, as a result of the school underperforming, being under-utilised, receiving poor education inspection reports (Ofsted) and ultimately having its funding withdrawn by the government, directly causing its closure.

:{{U|GeekBurst}}. you don't need to ask. You are welcome to go ahead and create the page. Our WP:WPSCHOOLS project pages contain a wealth of information, and you can view some of our school Good Articles to see how a school article is put together. We would advise creating the article in your user space as a draft then submitting it to WP:AfC for review when ready. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:20, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

[[York Memorial Collegiate Institute]]

Recently, there has been alot of media coverage about the violence at this school (see links). I think it is notable enough to include in the article but I'm not sure. Is it? If it is, should it be included in the history section or a new section?

I opened up a RfC in the talk page to reach a consensus on this issue. We'd greatly appreciate feedback from those more experienced in writing school articles. Thanks! GuyHimGuy (talk) 00:12, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

[[Shenzhen College of International Education]]

Can someone have a look over the history of this article. A lot of content has been removed from the page and while much of it is indeed trivial and promotional I feel that the article is now in need of expansion. I haven't personally worked on this article because I feel like I should get some help here first Pksois23 (talk) 13:45, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

[[Fleetwood Area School District]]

Hello WikiSchools Help,

I was hoping someone could look over some edits I made for this school district. It was listed with several notes about needing citations, formatting, etc. I am hoping some of these template notes can be removed now.

I am new to editing (this is for a graduate school assignment) and would like feedback. I did read the WikiProject Schools guidelines and recommendations prior to starting. Also, I am an alumna of the district, so does anyone have any suggestions/instructions for adding a COI statement?

Thanks so much!!!

[[Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School]]

MLK Jr. College Prep High School, formerly known as Frayser High School, was demolished in 2024 and a new high school, also named Frayser High School, is being built on the site to replace MLK Prep and another high school two miles away.

Should the new high school get a separate article? If not, should the MLK Prep infobox be moved down or deleted? ElToAn123 (talk) 00:39, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
