Wiki Women in Red - a proposed User Group
Having worked for 2 years editing articles for Women In Red, a group of organizers have concluded that sourcing is one of the biggest hurdles in creating articles on women and non-binary genders. Though it is true that a lot of sourcing simply doesn’t exist, it is also true that there are sources, but we have no access to them. As these groups did not typically become subjects for academic study until the 1970s, many of the sources are not on line or are behind paywalls. Failure to include women and non-binary people in the encyclopedia presents a one-dimensional view of society and history. To address those issues, we are forming a new User Group aimed at referencing and support for like-minded groups and would appreciate your input or input from your supporters in our organizational process. Millie (short story) up for deletion
- Millie (short story)
- Millie (short story)
Important author, Katherine Mansfield, particularly of short stories. Lots of sources at Google books. Referencing needs improvement. Only pretended compliance with WP:Before. Nominator says this is "a test case." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 7%266%3Dthirteen (talk • contribs) 14:50, October 19, 2019 (UTC)
Fortnight of French-speaking women authors
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this message. I'm a member of the project les sans paEs and I'm working on the organization of a new event: The Fortnight of French-speaking women authors (fr) (La Quinzaine des autrices francophones).
The main idea is to organize an online edit-a-thon, from March 14 to 27, 2022 as part of the Zébrures du printemps festival in Limoges (international festival of French-speaking theater). A physical gathering is planned for Wednesday, March 16 to raise awareness and invite people to participate, at the Limoges library, which is also taking part in the project. I specify that I do not work for these structures.
While doing my research, I discovered your list of Francophone African women writers and I looked into your project. I thought that maybe there was something to build together to give the event a bit of scope. Are there people among you who would be interested in talking about it?

Proposed deletion of :Jocelyn Scheirer
The article :Jocelyn Scheirer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG. No significant independent reliable sources providing in-depth coverage. Sources are mostly primary or trivial mentions.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the proposed deletion/dated notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing proposed deletion/dated will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Novel reviews from 1988
Hello all, I've just expanded Rivals (novel) but really struggled to find reviews from 1988 when it was published. I used the British Newspaper Archive, but found barely any. It was hugely popular, so there must be more. Any tips on finding them very welcome. There's a lot of online articles about the 2024 series, but I'd really like to include earlier reviews, before I nominate for GA. Many thanks (& apologies for cross-posting at Women in Red) Lajmmoore (talk) 14:10, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
:Personally, I tend to have a lot of luck with Newspapers.com, which is available through the Wikipedia Library. Some of the articles I found were already in the article, but I also came across these (not all British): Another approach I take is to check the archives of specific key papers if I believe they ought to have an important review of a particular book (which means hunting down to figure out where there archives actually are). Thanks for tackling this article -- it always seems like a shame for these big bestsellers to be underrepresented on Wikipedia. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 03:22, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
