I engaged in Wikipedia as a project to determine its appropriateness for student research. It's time to end the project. I'm impressed with many of the editors here, especially the film team (Erik, Alientraveller, Yllosubmarine, Stetsonharry, BIGNOLE, and many others) and others such as Daniel Case. My goal was to see in what ways WP could be used by students and teachers in furthering learning. I have no problem letting my students use WP with the usual caveats (a starting point for research), but, unfortunately, I am no longer in a position in which I can promote it as a good tool to colleagues. Some may find enjoyment in what passes for average "discourse" and "discussion" in the WP community; I no longer can.

After undertaking this I realise why it was so difficult to keep it going. I will, however, persevere. From the members, I would encourage you to vote in the Coordinator elections, and take up roles at the Job Centre. The project has struggled recently, and I am hoping to try and revive it. If, with the publication of this newsletter, there are a couple of things that aren't quite up-to-date (like the Collaboration part), you can be certain I am working on it.
