The đàn tam thập lục (chữ Hán: 彈三十六, also called simply tam thập lục) is a Vietnamese hammered dulcimer with 36 metal strings.Cannon, Alexander M. “When Charisma Sustains Tradition: Deploying Musical Competence in Southern Vietnam.” Ethnomusicology 57, no. 1 (2013): 88–115. https://doi.org/10.5406/ethnomusicology.57.1.0088. It is used in various genres of traditional music and drama, as well as in modernized traditional music. The instrument is very similar to the Chinese yangqin.
