The 1969 Boise State Broncos football team represented Boise State College during the 1969 NAIA football season, the second season of Bronco football at the four-year level. It was Boise's final season as an NAIA independent before joining the Big Sky Conference and {{nowrap|NCAA in 1970.{{cite news |url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=pmtYAAAAIBAJ&sjid=J_gDAAAAIBAJ&pg=7257%2C4418541 |newspaper=Spokane Daily Chronicle|location=(Washington)|agency=Associated Press|title=Boise State joins NCAA |date=October 15, 1969|page=44}}{{cite news|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=yoFfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=dDAMAAAAIBAJ&pg=4342,4661404|newspaper=Lewiston Morning Tribune|location=(Idaho)|agency=Associated Press|title=Boise State, Northern Arizona admitted to Big Sky |date=November 26, 1969 |page=13 }}}}
The Broncos played their home games on campus at the original Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. This was the final year for this wooden iteration, constructed in 1950, and the Broncos' last season for home games on natural grass. Immediately following the end of the season, the venue was razed and a new concrete stadium was built in less than ten months for the start of the 1970 season,{{cite news |url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=2wVPAAAAIBAJ&sjid=FkwDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6503%2C4436230|newspaper=Ellensburg Daily Record |location=(Washington)|agency=UPI|title=That;s show biz |date=September 12, 1970 |page=5}} outfitted with AstroTurf (green for sixteen seasons, until 1986).
Led by second-year head coach Tony Knap, the Broncos finished with a {{nowrap|9–1}} record.{{cite web|url=http://college-football-results.com/f/boisesta.htm|title=Boise State Broncos -- College Football (NCAA)|publisher=college-football-results.com|accessdate=June 12, 2016}}{{cite news |url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=x4FfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=dDAMAAAAIBAJ&pg=2439%2C4103874 |work=Lewiston Morning Tribune |location=Idaho |agency=Associated Press |title=Boise State rolls |date=November 23, 1969 |page=13}}
