The 1979–80 Scottish Cup was the 95th staging of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. The Cup was won by Celtic who defeated Rangers in the final. The match was marred by crowd trouble which resulted in violent clashes between rival fans and led to the current ban on alcohol at Scottish grounds.[http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/scot_prem/7265902.stm BBC SPORT | Football | Scottish Premier | Boyle urges alcohol ban rethink]
