The Seattle Mariners {{mlby|1986}} season was their tenth since the franchise creation. They were seventh in the American League West with a record of {{winning percentage|67|95|record=y}}, the worst record in the league and second-worst in the majors.
At Boston's Fenway Park on Tuesday, April 29, twenty Mariners were struck out by 23-year-old Roger Clemens to set a new major league record.
