The 1996 Houston Astros season was the 35th season for the Houston Astros, a Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise located in Houston, Texas, their 32nd as the Astros, 28th in the National League West, and 32nd at The Astrodome. It involved the Houston Astros attempting to win the National League Central. The Astros finished in second place in the NL Central with an 82–80 record, six games behind the St. Louis Cardinals.

Regular season
