Led by first-year head coach Kirk Ferentz, the Hawkeyes compiled an overall record of 1–10 with a mark of 0–11 in conference play, placing last out of 11 teams in the Big Ten. The team played home games at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.
