Rules

Like other match-ups in the knockout round, the teams played two games, one at each team's home stadium. If the teams remained tied after 90 minutes of play during the 2nd leg, the away goals rule would be used, but not after a tie enters extra time, and so a tie would be decided by penalty shootout if the aggregate score is level after extra time.{{Cite web |title=CONCACAF Champions League Regulations 2009/2010 |url=http://www.concacafmain.premiumtv.co.uk/staticFiles/d1/3a/0,,12813~146129,00.pdf |publisher=CONCACAF |format=PDF |access-date=2009-08-18 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090824022517/http://www.concacafmain.premiumtv.co.uk/staticFiles/d1/3a/0,,12813~146129,00.pdf |archive-date=2009-08-24 |url-status=dead }}
