Primorje were directly relegated at the end of the 2010–11 season to the Slovenian Second League after the last-place finish. They were replaced by the 2010–11 Slovenian Second League fourth-placed team, Mura 05, who participated in the competition for the first time in their history. Mura 05 received and accepted an invitation to join the league after Aluminij, Interblock and Dravinja – who finished in the top three places – all declined promotion due to financial reasons.{{cite web | url = http://sobotainfo.com/novice/ogled/12450/?s=pf | title = Muri se odpirajo vrata v Prvo ligo! | author = Smiljan Kuhar | date = 1 June 2011 | publisher = SobotaInfo.com | language = sl | access-date = 19 July 2011 | archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20110605004231/http://sobotainfo.com/novice/ogled/12450/?s=pf | archive-date = 5 June 2011 | url-status = dead }}
