|Analog television ceases broadcasting in 44 of the 47 Japanese prefectures, along with analog satellite broadcasting, at 12:00 JST. The shutdown of analog broadcasting was postponed in the prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima to March 31, 2012 due to the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and its related nuclear accidents.
