The divisions are the Championship, League One and League Two. Leicester City, Burnley and Queens Park Rangers were promoted to the Premier League, while Bristol Rovers and Torquay United were relegated to the Conference Premier.

The 2013–14 season was the first in a five-year sponsorship agreement with betting company Sky Bet. As a result of the deal, the three Football League divisions were officially referred to as "The Sky Bet Championship", "Sky Bet League One" and "Sky Bet League Two".{{cite news|title=Sky Bet to sponsor The Football League |url=http://www.football-league.co.uk/footballleaguenews/20130718/sky-bet-to-sponsor-the-football-league_2293334_3318506 |work=football-league.co.uk |publisher=The Football League |date=18 July 2013 |access-date=18 July 2013 |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130721163828/http://www.football-league.co.uk/footballleaguenews/20130718/sky-bet-to-sponsor-the-football-league_2293334_3318506 |archive-date=21 July 2013 }}
