Term-end performance assessment
Bernard Orsman and Simon Wilson, the local government reporters from The New Zealand Herald, both assessed the performance of each elected member at the end of the term. Their ratings, from 1 to 10 (worst to best), were compiled without them comparing notes. Orsman and Wilson are known to be at opposing ends of the political spectrum. Seven out of their twenty-one ratings are identical. Orsman assigned rates from 3 to 8, while Wilson had councillors rated from 1 to 10.{{cite news |title=Rating every Auckland councillor: Bernard Orsman and Simon Wilson give their verdicts |url=https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/rating-every-auckland-councillor-bernard-orsman-and-simon-wilson-give-their-verdicts/2EM3NCKMXVKOBEWGJROLOGGLYY/ |access-date=22 September 2022 |work=The New Zealand Herald |date=23 September 2022}}{{subscription required}}
