Controversy

The inclusion of Killing Eve attracted some controversy as BAFTA rules state that a programme must have its premiere in the UK before elsewhere in order to be eligible, and Killing Eve premiered on BBC America in the US in April 2018, but in the UK in September 2018. BAFTA subsequently amended its eligibility rules, removing the requirement for UK programmes to premiere in the UK.{{cite news |url=https://www.indiewire.com/awards/industry/killing-eve-bafta-tv-nominees-controversy-1202053448/ |title='Killing Eve' Leads All BAFTA TV Nominees With 14 — But There's a Twist |last=Hill |first=Libby |work=IndieWire |date=28 March 2019 |access-date=8 May 2019 |language=en-US}}{{cite news |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/10/08/bafta-changesrules-tv-awards-killing-eve-controversy/ |title=BAFTA changes rules for TV Awards after 'Killing Eve' controversy |newspaper=The Telegraph |date=8 October 2019 |access-date=9 October 2019 |url-access=limited |language=en}}
