The men's national basketball team of the United States won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The United States was coached by Gregg Popovich, who had won five NBA championships as head coach of the San Antonio Spurs. He made his head coaching debut for Team USA on the 2019 World Cup team in China.
