Friday’s afternoon qualifying was broken into one session for the GTD Pro and GTD classes, which lasted for 15 minutes. The rules dictated that all teams nominated a driver to qualify their cars, with the Pro-Am (GTD) class requiring a Bronze/Silver Rated Driver to qualify the car. The competitors' fastest lap times determined the starting order.{{Cite web |title=2022 IMSA SPORTING REGULATIONS and SERIES SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS |url=https://www.imsa.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/32/2021/12/23/2022-IMSA-SPORTING-REGULATIONS-and-SSR-IWSC-Blackline-122221.pdf |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231222232155/https://www.imsa.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/32/2021/12/23/2022-IMSA-SPORTING-REGULATIONS-and-SSR-IWSC-Blackline-122221.pdf |archive-date=2023-12-22 |access-date=December 27, 2023}}
