Eight county teams competed – six from Leinster ({{GG|Dublin|hurling}}, {{GG|Kilkenny|hurling}}, {{GG|Laois|hurling}}, {{GG|Offaly|hurling}}, {{GG|Westmeath|hurling}}, {{GG|Wexford|hurling}}); {{GG|Galway|hurling}} from Connacht; and {{GG|Antrim|hurling}} from Ulster.
