Primary elections were held on June 11, 2024.{{cite web|url=https://www.nvsos.gov/sos/elections/election-information/2024-election-information|title=2024 Election Information|publisher=Nevada Secretary of State|access-date=February 12, 2023}}
On Election Day, Republicans made a net gain of one seat and broke the Democratic two-thirds supermajority, but they were unable to make further gains. The Nevada Independent partially attributed the underwhelming Republican gains to the impact of gerrymandering imposed by the Democratic-controlled Nevada Legislature in 2021.{{Cite web|url=https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/analysis-how-redistricting-helped-nevada-democrats-but-not-enough-to-gain-supermajority|title=Analysis: How redistricting helped Nevada Democrats — but not enough to gain supermajority
